Mermaid

I dive into your black depths:

Your inky lair.

Fire in my soul,

Resistance is futile

To challenge you is to dare

Against the fate

You’ve laid out for me.

Mermaid, your dominion over me is unfair

As my hand shakes;

Without your black nectar

I would not care

About the cosmos around me.

How can the ignorant dilute you

With a milky stare?

God of my being:

Starbucks cup, I salute you!
